A place where life slows down

Hi friends,

Since starting our adventure in Ireland, so much has happened for our family and for me: We’ve been stretched, taken out of our comfort zones, and experienced completely new things. Some of them have been intimidating, and others have been dreams years in the making. This journey has inspired me to start documenting and sharing more of our day-to-day life in a longer, more personal format.

Everything online is so fast and so short, and I’ve been craving something more thoughtful that lasts—which is why I started The Goose Gazette.

I’ve always found I get the most out of life when I pause and take the time to appreciate what’s in front of me, and I hope this newsletter will be a space where we can do that together. It will also be a place where I can share things close to my heart, and I’m excited to connect in a way we haven’t been able to before.

You can expect stories from our farm and family, deeper reflections, and of course, the food and recipes that bring us together. I actually started writing as soon as we landed in Ireland and have a few stories and recipes lined up for you over the next couple of weeks. You won’t be surprised that the first recipe is bread! A new, exciting sourdough recipe that I can’t wait to share with you. It’s taken a bit for me to get my ducks in a row with Substack, but I already have some thoughts written on what it was really like flying to Ireland with eight kids, how it has felt being away from them all day for the first time, and how we’re managing everything. After that, updates will come as they happen.

I’m also excited about the chat feature on Substack—it will be a great space to exchange ideas, connect, and learn from each other. I’ll pop in every now and then, too!
